This year on the Santa Fe Western, the Zenith yard final spike was placed on August 21st! The yard was placed in service and work was completed on some of the Zenith mainline bridges and tunnels. The large south Zenith mountain was framed and plaster webbing installed. Also, the Arch Bridge canyon area had plaster webbing installed.
Our first DCC test run around the Departure division was made during
August.
On the Eureka and Empire narrow gauge line, track spline work was completed up to the Empire district. Trackwork and a round house were installed in Eureka yard.
On the Oakland, Antioch and Eastern, the Churchill yard, tracks were ballasted.
