  Last Update: May 22, 2008

We invite you to visit the Golden State Model Railroad Museum (GSMRM). Enjoy 10,000 square feet of O, HO and N scale model railroading, constructed and operated by the East Bay Model Engineers Society (EBMES). We are located in Point Richmond, CA, at Miller-Knox Regional Shoreline Park.

The museum is open and model trains are running every Sunday from Noon-5pm during the months of April through December. We are also open Saturdays from Noon-5pm, and Wednesdays from 11am-3pm for viewing the layouts, but there may not be any model trains running.
During the month of December we are also open for additional Holiday Shows - please check for seasonal announcements.
The museum will be closed for the annual winter break from January through March. Directions and details...

The Museum is Open for the Y2008 run season.
This year we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the East Bay Model Engineers' Society.

We welcome visitors of all ages! Frequent visitors and supporters may wish to join the Museum. Those interested in constructing and operating the model railroads should consider joining the East Bay Model Engineers Society. Learn more...

Nov 1, 2003: O scale finished the last piece of main line track (only one siding is still missing) with the celebration of the Golden Spike. Electric work is following closely, and soon trains will be running on the high line.

The N Scale layout was featured in the "centerspread" of the first issue of N Scale Railroading magazine.

There are more photos of the layout in the third issue (Jan/Feb 2001) along with photos of the magnificent North Coast Limited train belonging to one of our club members!

The GSMRM was the Cover Story in the October 1999 issue of Model Railroader Magazine!

HO Scale  New: 6/4/2008
Y2007 saw the start of a project to add a new town, Pleasanton, to our Canyon Division, near the existing Hearst siding. Hearst will be relocated a few feet east. Work continues this year. Senior Member Jeff Robinson is meticulously scratchbuilding models of authentic and historic buildings in the town. Unfortunately, its way back of the layout and hard to see from the public walkway. So this is the best view you will get !

This shows the original location, with the expansion of the benchwork mapped out. Click on the picture for more details.
